Dinah Jane Hansen, a former member of the girl group “Fifth Harmony,” is now releasing her solo music after the group’s hiatus.
She released a little bundle of songs where the track “Heard it all before.” can be found. It is the first of the three songs and I believe it was a good choice. I feel like this song displays the new direction Dinah is trying to go in.
The song reminds me of a Mariah Carey, early 2000’s R&B vibe. Sort of like the era that is shown in the Finesse video with Bruno Mars and Cardi B. That is what I imagined when I first heard the song, but I think it is a pretty good song. Considering it is the direction she wants to head towards. I feel like it isn’t too over the top as if she was trying too hard. I think it is a great balance between old school and new school.
