Weezer (Teal Album)

On January 24th of this year, Weezer released their twelveth studio album. Their fifth self-titled album is unlike the others. This album is actually made up cover songs.

They featured many classics from various genres and eras. They start by covering “Africa,” which was originally sung by Toto then finished the album by singing “Stand By Me,” by Ben E King. That was where they began and ended, but they also hit classics like “No Scrubs,” by Destiny’s Child and “Happy Together,” by The Turtles.

After looking at a tracklist like that I’m sure you were as confused as I was at first, but after listening to the album, I was pleasantly surprised. Hearing all of those classics in this new way was pretty spectacular. The way they added a rock twist to these icon songs was innovative and I am all for it.

At the end of the day, that is just my opinion. It is now on you to go and form your own opinion yourself, so follow this link and go look at this new music through your eyes. https://open.spotify.com/album/65sHj9PvsbyD0uugGHjueN
