To add to the list of new music on January 11th Lauren Jauregui, one of the former members of Fifth Harmony released her second single since the group’s hiatus.

The song titled “More Than That” has a beat that makes you want to dance along. It will also have you wanting to sing along to the lyrics too. It is a song that puts the power in the girl’s hand when it comes to someone who is interested in you. She knows she is in a relationship and it might not be right of her to tempt this new person, but she knows she has his attention. She said that it takes more than little games to get to her especially since she is in a relationship.
Though that is how she thinks that’s how the song should be interpreted, I see it in a different way. I do like the song and find myself singing along to it, but in terms of “girl power” and trying to prove that she is “loyal,” I don’t see it. She is obviously tempting this guy saying that she might give him a taste of what she does, but he just has to remember that she doesn’t belong to him. How does that prove that she is loyal? I think it proves the opposite even though she is saying it’ll take more to get to her, it still makes it seem like she is giving him this false hope.
I just find it very contradictory, but that is just how I see it through my eyes. You need to go take a look at it and figure out how you feel about “More Than That” through your eyes so click the link and take a look at it through your eyes https://youtu.be/uDb3RKqwTok
