On January 23rd, J Cole dropped a new single called “Middle Child.” The release of this song was long overdue seeing that he hadn’t released a song in what seemed like forever. As expected, Cole pulled through and delivered an amazing song.

The song talks a lot about how he is a symbol of two eras. He is “big bro and little bro all at once.” He wants to be a role model for all these younger artists, but he knows he was once that young artist wanting to make it big.
The song has a beat that suits the lyrics because throughout the song he makes it a point to prove how he is the greatest right now. The trumpets that are constant throughout the song just help show that he is winning right now.
I definitely would agree with him. This song just goes to show that J. Cole really is one of the best rappers in the game right now. Lyrically, he always delivers and it’s the same for his beats. He is passionate about his craft, and it is more than the surface level crap that other rappers are rapping about nowadays.
I really believe that J. Cole is one of the greatest of our time and he does have the right to claim that, but that’s just how I see it. It’s up to you to figure out how you feel through your eyes, so click the link and see it through your own eyes. https://youtu.be/WILNIXZr2oc
